modern-bunk-beds

Bunk beds are most commonly adapted and admired type of childrens beds. These beds are available in versatility of materials like wooden and metallic material. As with the passage of time every furniture item gets fad and losses its look, same is the case with bunk beds. As they bear the hard kick and knock of kids so they get worn out quickly. You need to remodel them so that you may award it a new and fresh look. Exhausting is not the only reason behind repainting, you may also repaint it to adapt it according to your new room décor. Here, I have suggested the tips and ways to paint different types of bunk beds. The procedure and material which you use for metallic ones does not apply to wooden ones.

Painting wooden bunk bed:

  • To paint a bunk bed manufactured using wood, you need to have following items first:

                            Sand paper
                            Paint
                            Brushes
                            Rags

  • First of all you need to sand the frame of bunk bed so that you may remove the existing on it. If you do not sand it properly and paints sticks to the frame then your new paint will not give you a smoother look and touch.
  • Now you have to clean the frame with rag thoroughly so that you may clear out all the dust particles and paint particles that are sprinkled over the frame.
  • Now it the turn of painting. You need to apply the paint in the direction of wood grain. If you apply in opposite direction then it will not give a smoother look.
  • Apply three coats and let it dry completely before usage.

Painting metal bunk bed:

  • To paint a metallic bunk bed you need following items:

                            Sand paper
                            Spray paint
                            Clear coat spray
                            Primer
                            Rags

  • At first step there comes sanding. Sanding of metal bunk bed is not so easy. You have to move your hand in a circular way to sand it because if not do so, the paint particles will not get removed and the frame will not provides you a silky and cloudy touch and look.
  • Hold the rug and clean the frame thoroughly. Make it sure that there is not particles of sand or paint left on frame.
  • Apply the primer on the frame. It should be in the form of spray so that it may stick to the frame effectively and efficiently. Let it get dry before applying the paint.
  • When it gets dry, apply the spray paint upon the primer. Spray paint is best to be used because it makes your frame streaks free.
  • When the spray paint coat has dried, you should apply the clear coat to the frame. This coat is applied in order to seal the pain so that it may not have chipping.

These are some of the simple steps that will guide you throughout the process of painting a bunk bed. These steps will guarantee you a fresh and classy new bed frame.
